Ashley Coone is a DeSoto County
native. She was appointed by Gov.
Rick Scott to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Mitzie McGavic on June 8,
2016. Ashley is the co-founder of Links2Success, a nonprofit serving DeSoto
County youth by providing programming that prepares them for post-secondary
education careers. She also serves
on the board of The Smith Brown Community Foundation where she chairs a project
to restore a historic facility and transform it into the town’s first
She graduated from
Florida Gulf Coast University with a BS in Business Management and holds a
MA in Management and Leadership from Webster University. Ashley is also a graduate of Leadership DeSoto, Leadership Lee County, Gulf Coast Leadership
Institute, Leadership Florida’s Connect FL program and numerous other
leadership and educational training programs.
